swim safely with hornsea dolphins

Your safety

You are responsible for your own safety.

Group swimming

Outdoor swimming is great fun but it is recommended that you don't swim by yourself.

Wear the right gear

You need to swim with a tow float.

Wetsuit or swimsuit

It's up to you. The most important thing is that you dont get cold. It's not a competition to see who can stay in the longest.

Wetsuit, gloves and swim shoes

Neoprene gloves make a real difference and swim shoes are essential even in summer due to the weever fish in the sea. Woolly hats are great for winter swims.

Getting out of the cold water

Bring some warm clothes to put on. And ones that are easy when you are wet and cold. A dry robe if you have one, a dressing gown, joggers, gloves, socks... whatever is easy and quick to put on... and a hot drink. Don't forget a chair if you want to stay and chat.
